Choose how much help you want with your retirement income
Test your plan for free. Keep it on track every year with Plus. Or take a printable plan to your advisor. Every option uses the same honest test: your numbers, replayed through every U.S. market since 1928.
Find out how much you can spend, before you retire
Most retirement calculators assume one average return. Income Horizon replays your savings and spending through every real market since 1928, including the Depression, the 1970s and 2008, and shows how often your plan would have lasted.
Then it shows you better ways to take money out: guardrails that adjust spending a little with the market, a cash bucket so you don’t sell in a crash, and our combined plan that uses both.
See your odds honestly. How many past retirements your plan would have survived, and the hardest ones.
Find your spending range. How far you could push spending with guardrails, and the lowest it would go.
Size your cash bucket. We recommend 3 to 5 years of spending, and show you why for your numbers.
Compare strategies side by side. Fixed spending, guardrails, buckets and the combined plan, on your savings.

Common questions
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. Enter your email address and the whole planner unlocks: every retirement since 1928, guardrails, buckets, the combined plan and the strategy comparison. The calculators on our tools pages don’t need an email at all.
When will Plus be available?
Plus is coming soon. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it opens. Nothing is charged to join the waitlist, and joining also unlocks the free planner.
What’s in the printable plan?
A few pages built from your own numbers: your spending rules step by step, how your plan held up in famous market crashes, the lowest your spending would have gone, what would change your plan, and questions for your advisor. You can see a sample before you buy.
Do I need Plus if I’m already retired?
You don’t need it, but it’s built for you. Live mode turns your rules into a short yearly check-in: enter a few numbers each January and it tells you whether to trim, hold or raise spending and whether to refill your cash bucket.
Is this financial advice?
No. Income Horizon is an educational tool that tests plans against market history. It doesn’t consider taxes or your full situation, so we encourage you to review decisions with a fiduciary financial professional. The printable plan is designed to make that conversation easier.
Where are my numbers stored?
The planner runs in your browser, and the numbers you enter stay on your device. Your email address is used to unlock the planner and, if you choose, to send the newsletter.
